My Writing

Closely looking, it seems that, one way or another, everything has already been written, with a few exceptions. Even in fiction, there are recurring themes. And yet, each piece of storytelling is imbued and interwoven with the authors’ life stories, based on their values, their love, their pain, their fear, their anger, and their longing for healing and forgiveness.

The same holds true for my stories and poems: they are characterized by my love for life, by by my occasional despair at some all-too-human failings, and by my hope that there is, time and again, a glimmer of hope, a chance, however small, a turn for the better, or at least a graceful, humbled acceptance of the inevitable.

Quality Management for IT Startups

From Code to Publication:
My Journey of Professional Growth

During my tenure as Chief Technology Officer and Head of Software Development for an innovative software joint venture between Ernst & Young and DEC, I embraced the challenge of creating something truly foundational. With vision and determination, I developed a comprehensive Quality Management and Performance System that would serve as the bedrock for our organization's success.

Hungry for knowledge and seeking to expand my leadership capabilities, I enrolled in an executive MBA program at New Zealand's prestigious Massey University. This transformative educational experience allowed me to synthesize my hands-on management expertise into a robust MBA thesis—a work that captured both theoretical frameworks and practical insights gained through years of real-world application.

After four enriching years abroad, my return to Germany marked the beginning of an unexpected chapter. With a blend of courage and curiosity, I approached Munich's distinguished Hanser Verlag, one of the country's most respected publishers. To my delight, they expressed genuine interest in my work, inspiring me to transform my academic thesis into what would become my first published book.

Like many first-time authors, I sometimes look back at those pages with the wisdom of hindsight, imagining how I might rewrite everything from scratch today. But I've come to appreciate an essential truth about creation: at some point, we must release our work into the world and continue our journey forward. That willingness to share our imperfect creations is often the very catalyst that propels us toward our next great achievement.

Fiction

The G.O.D. Machine

We live in times where the world is dominated by powerful oligarchs, ruthless corporations, and rival superpowers, many seeking to exploit Artificial Intelligence for their own sinister agendas.

In these increasingly disrupted times, where AI dominance looms and human manipulation of technology threatens our very existence, “The G.O.D. Machine” is a socially critical thriller that challenges both our fear of AI itself and the terrifying potential for its abuse by those in power. It offers a hopeful yet provocative vision of humanity’s next evolutionary step and the universal search for meaning in an age of technological upheaval.

Who truly controls whom in this dangerous game of power, technology, and human ambition? As the boundaries between human and machine blur, and the risk of AI being weaponized by the unscrupulous grows, the ultimate question emerges: Will AI—and those who seek to control it—be our downfall, or can it become the key to our salvation?

A breathtaking vision of the future that will captivate you until the final page, forcing you to confront the true nature of intelligence, power, and what it means to be human in a world on the brink of transformation.

The Seven Realms of EDEN

"The real appeal of WASTELAND was in its secrets. Residents increased their growth levels by discovering hidden paths winding through dead cities, stumbling upon forgotten bunkers under the toxic dust, or finding mysterious portals leading to other worlds we had designed. The most enticing discoveries were the subtle bridges we had woven toward the realms of EDEN. For those who truly proved themselves to have evolved, there were the whispered hints of the mythical Third Option that SHE had so far only granted to us, her team of creators.

EDEN wasn't just humanity's future world – it was humanity's collective dream made manifest. Whatever those dreams are."

WASTELAND

„Picture this,“ Victor's hands painted the air. „A world so real that dwellers wouldn’t be able to distinguish it from what they perceive as their current reality. A world as real as the chair you're sitting in. WASTELAND. Earth, but pushed to its breaking point. Overcrowded. Resource-starved. You can't shoot your way out of toxic air or empty stomachs. Want to lock up 'Wasteland' troublemakers? Better figure out sanitation and food distribution, or you'll have a riot. Need to tackle the plastic crisis? You'll have to actually understand chemistry and engineering. No magic buttons – just real knowledge, real solutions, real growth.““

The Divine Paradox

A Reflection on Faith and Power

“And in Heaven I Asked For…”
There exists in our world a carefully constructed paradigm—one of devotion, order, submission, discipline, and hard work. A system built on structure, administration, and hierarchy, where service to various power levels promises the ultimate reward: an afterlife of eternal bliss for those who maintain unwavering faith, trust, and obedience.
This is perhaps the most troubling aspect of any religious system, and indeed, a fundamental challenge for our world: the citizens already possess what ancient texts promise—eternal life is their birthright, not a reward to be earned through subservience.
We, like capricious Olympic deities, introduced elements of chaos into this ordered world—barbarians and pagans who “require” conversion, missionaries who sometimes face execution for their zeal. We created the concept of sinners: monks who betray their vows, women who “transgress” against arbitrary moral codes. Divine wrath and punishment loom as terrible consequences. Hell and purgatory await the disobedient.
From this framework emerged wars of faith, death for supposedly righteous causes, and the glorification of martyrdom. The inhabitants fight passionately for what they believe is Truth, but what they ultimately receive is merely order.

Those in power—the true architects of these systems—desire nothing more than control and stability. Thus, the immortality that should be every soul’s inherent right becomes conditional, something that can be threatened, diminished, or lost entirely. In this divine paradox, we witness humanity’s greatest spiritual challenge: recognizing the difference between authentic transcendence and the structures of control that merely wear its mask.

With the complex web of topics in this socio-technological thriller, you have obviously captured the spirit of the times. The human drama is compelling. The explosive combination of quantum computing and AI is so captivatingly described.

Reviews

The G.O.D. Machine* is more than just a gripping technological thriller—it’s a profound meditation on what it means to exist. A sentient AI grappling with her own purpose, adds a deeply philosophical layer to the story, echoing Viktor Frankl’s timeless exploration of meaning and fulfillment. This elevates the narrative beyond the confines of sci-fi, transforming it into a richly human (and post-human) journey that challenges readers to reflect on their own place in the universe. A thought-provoking masterpiece that lingers long after the final page.

Although I usually don't read fiction novels, I really enjoyed reading this one and quickly became immersed in the story. The themes that are touched on are, of course, pretty heavy stuff, but highly relevant and contemporary. I like Maddox, at least he seems honest and clear. I love the story and I find the characters compelling and well-developed.
